One of my canary eggs started hatching today, but it's been hours and the baby still haven't gotten out of the shell.

What do I do!?
>>
>1.Turn the egg upside down

I can't imagine manually opening an egg that's already cracking open would be the end of the world. Just expect to get your fingers wet in bird fetus goop.
>>

Is the humidity high enough? Is it being incubated artificially or by a parent? Hatch time is when humidity MUST be high enough or the sticky membrane inside the egg will dry out after the shell cracks and glue the baby into the shell.

They're incubated by parents. Humidity is around 75% right now.

It's still alive and kicking inside the egg. The hole is getting bigger and bigger.

Can't I use tweezers to help the little bird get out!?

Patience.

Clean the cage dude, jesus
>>

Not a good idea. If the membrane is sticking, you can easily tear the baby's skin.
>>
>>2111074
What should he use? Like some warm water and tissues? Maybe gently break the shell?
>>
>>2111086
I would just let nature take it's course. If it doesn't hatch correctly then either the parent got off the nest too soon and is a crummy parent and shouldn't be breeding, OR the chick was defective.

If OP is determined to save the chick, maybe remove it to an incubator. Humidity in the incubator should be 75%.

I have helped a chicken hatch and it was extremely delicate. Their skin is thinner than tissue paper. I can't even imagine how delicate a canary chick would be.

OP here.

Chick is still alive, but still not out of the egg. Mother is on the nest, while the father is freaking the fuck out and feeding her.
