So this was originally 2 posts long but I've managed to condense it to just a few sentences so bear with me. I'm high as shit and coming down from a mild acid trip.
How should I categorize information about my life when you want to start writing a book/screenplay about yourself? My current resources at the moment are my phone and everything on it from the past 6 years, my social media from the past 5 years, and a couple of posts from this website from the past month or so. And I guess a shitty "ending" that reads immature like a 14 yo with a deluded fantasy wrote. Anyways, how the fuck do I even start? I'm a shitty writer but I know this'll be some good practice but all I'm doing atm is just jotting down my current thoughts while they're still fresh.
Any writers on /adv/? How should I look at this when sober me wakes up tomorrow?
I would try both a spread sheet and a ms word file where you make a header on each page for each year.
Maybe a time line ?
For me, the best way to make large concepts and build ideas is to write everything down by hand into a book. I write down everything that comes to my mind, make small graphs or sketches. Referencing back and forth to previous notes is also quite important to keep older thoughts fresh.
Maybe it's just me, but I remember handwritten stuff much better than things typed on the computer. Probably some muscle-memory thing related to learning or I don't know.
Good luck with your endeavour OP.
