How do I talk to my mom? Whenever we go out to eat together she just uses her phone and I'm too autistic to know how to converse like a normal human being?

I have the same problem with my Dad. I told him if he is so interested In his phone he shouldn't meet with me.
It really is not rude to say this. Try to get her to put her phone on the table away from her plate.

>millennial problems
I don't think my dad used a computer in his entire life and he never owned a cell phone. I buy my mom crappy flip phones cause she doesn't understand a smart phone is expensive and I can't have her constantly breaking them...
Anyway, talk about things that are going on in your life. A movie or show you just saw, something that happened at work, literally anything. Even if you think it's meaningless just bring it up, chat about it for a second and if it dies then bring up another topic. It's called small talk and you go from one random topic to the next. Sometimes you stay on one for longer than the other. That's how you converse. It's called bullshitting, too.

Kinda the same problem with my dad except we just don't talk to eachother and pretty much sit quietly whenever we eat together. I think theres nothing to do about it desu

Silence isn't always so bad. Besides, it's hard for anyone to talk to someone obsessed with their phone.

but my mom talks to her friends on social media but I don't have any friends and use 4chan through Clover instead.
everyone else around is chatting with their families.
