I bought a few cigars and accessories online and they sent me a ridiculous amount of them for free, with a handwritten note to someone else saying "enjoy the extras - [name]". I got all the stuff I ordered, plus about 100 expensive cigars. I don't know either of the people mentioned in the note, but all the packages (multiple shipments are common with this company) have my name and address on them. What do? Can I be prosecuted for just keeping the stuff? The packages were signed for, if they ask where they are can I say I never got them? What will happen if they find out I kept it all?
They sent you extra stuff you dip.

We're talking literally hundreds of dollars worth of cigars, for someone whose name is not mine, from someone whose name I do not recognise.

Don't be a cunt; contact the company.
They have your details; they'll figure it out sooner or later. Better that you initiate first and be a good customer. They might even give you some kind of bonus for being honest. But don't *expect* it.
