If I remember anything from school, it's that hitting it off in a classroom environment is pretty difficult.
It CAN be done, but typically is hard.
The best way to do it, is to isolate her after class, by asking her for coffee and help on the subject you're taking (mostly bullshit but maybe you can learn something).
Talk to her while you're having coffee, and if you hit off, ask if she wants to meet up again later. That's when you ask for her number.
