Parallel algorithms is probably the only one worth your time. Programming is best learned by programming stuff, not so much be having things spoonfed to you in courses.
That said the open source project might give you something to show off later as proof that you're not a complete potato.
If you just want something to pad your resume though, look up some job ads and take note of what they're looking for. Webdev is a pretty safe bet but the work is inane and the people you work with are usually cunts.
