Red-pill me on translation work for a non-native speaker with a translation degree.
I've always been interested in world cultures, politics, and geo-linguistics. When I was in HS I wanted to work as a diplomat in the foreign service, but found out I have a better chance being a pro athlete or running for Congress, so translation work seems a more realistic path to take.
I'm in Philadelphia (Eastern US) if extra context is needed. In addition to the large Puerto Rican community, we have a ton of Russian immigrants and some Mandarin speakers.
Alright, I'll redpill you:
Unless you're a cultural native of that language, the private sector doesn't want you.
Unless you were trained by the military(and only in whatever language they trained you), the public sector doesn't want you either.
