I planned on enlisting straight out of school. Learning that my schooling will be prolonged makes me feel like a complete and utter loser. Especially just because I chose to fuck around and fucked up my own stuff.

It may seem like a big deal at your age but a years difference means absolutely nothing, just focus on your work this time and make sure its done well. Worrying about something that's too late to change won't do you any good.
