How do I get closure over a situation? Or should I just create it myself?

This.
Not OP but how do you "create" closure
Depends. If you trod on a snail, I know it's not nice but it was an accident and happens to everyone. If your friends screwed you over or you lost money that's not nice but you can make new things work. If there was a fire or a bomb or death related thing then talking therapy does help, if you find the right shrink or counselling you could benefit from it a lot.
Maybe just do something new with your life?
Closure is a myth, you just carry on and find other situations and events to create new memories and snow the bad memories under.
i.e. live life.

The only good closure is death. Usually delivered via violence, or just plain suicide.
I might sound edgy and joking, but in actuality real closure is not possible to achieve since you're coming back to it as long as you're alive. Best to carry on and try to open up into another good possibilities instead of worrying about closing some things that'll never chase back to you.

while Id agree with most people ITT..
there are VERY RARE situations where you can get a closure. Where a mutual agreement on something can be definitive and not to be changed again (at least on your part haha).
Death can offer solace, but closure.. not so much, I feel, leaves you wondering.
