I think it's the only realistic way out, but my immediate family will resent me for taking it. I don't know if I'll make many friends there, but something to do is better than nothing at all.

Keep yourself busy. I was in your position at your age but i went to school, got a job, & i slowly started gaining friends. It wont happened immediately, achieving happiness takes time & effort but if i can do it you can as well.
