Selfishness isn't a bad trait. Just don't get in other people's ways.

OP you are likely not a narcissist as a narcissist wouldn't see they have an issue.

However ignore these posters saying selfishness is not a bad trait. There is a major difference between chasing your interests — normal — and hurting others to do so — selfish. You can pursue what you want as that is healthy, but to not be selfish you should do so in a way where you aren't crushing others to do it.
