>been depressed almost on the verge of daily suicide for years
>have meds
>meds make me sleepy, makes work hard to endure without chugging coffee and replacing lunch with a nap
>takes 3-4 weeks for meds to supposedly truly start to work
>only takes a few days to at least drop apathy
>have never lasted longer than maybe 10 days before dropping them, convince myself that they don't help, they only make me tired etc
I have them right here... Should I try again? How can I force myself to endure?
If your doctor has told you that it can take up to a month to see results, then you can't expect them to work after only 10 days. You have no basis to convince yourself they don't work because you never tried them for the amount of time you were advised to take them.
If I were in your situation, I'd tell myself "I think about killing myself daily... what do I have to lose by taking these meds for 30 days? Nothing. What do I have to gain? Potentially a loss of my suicidal ideation."
