I ordered online for the first time. It was a pair of items from two different shops. I live in a shitty third world country, and our local post office is known to steal people's packages.
Could I just contact the sellers and ask them to use a different destination (if possible) for delivery, or is that aspect out of their hands entirely? Neither item has shipped yet.

When you buy online you tell them your billing address sometimes and your mailing address always. They don't have to be the same - after all, people buy gifts and have them sent to the other person.
When buying online give them whatever delivery address you want.
