Back in the old days when hanging was a form of execution in England, they made sure you dropped 4-6 feet before you started hanging. It would be enough force to snap the neck and paralyze you and likely make you unconscious.

why do you want to commit suicide? if theres something you need to talk about we will listen. please don't hang yourself, its unreliable and can end up being very painful
