I don't feel very uncomfortable about rejecting guys who just want sex with me or who are only slightly romantically interested in me, but when it comes to rejecting a guy who has a huge crush on me or something like that, I feel extremely uncomfortable, choked-up and repulsed on a certain level. Is this normal or is it indicative of issues on a deeper level? Does anyone else feel this?

It's normal. A guy who has pretty obvious objectives like sex won't feel bad about being turned down. When you see someone is emotionally invested at some level then it's much different.

I've had to shut down girls before that I wasn't interested in that I could tell were acting differently over the course of a few weeks. It was harder because I thought they'd have an obvious negative reaction to what I said but it was for the better.
