/adv/ what's a good sport or activity a middle aged woman can take up and compete in? I miss the feeling of competition and self-improvement I got from playing sports in high school and college. I have since tried to channel that drive into my career but it's not really the same and not really as spiritually rewarding.

Cycling, swimming, rowing machines. I ride a bicycle every day it's my main mode of transport but also an excellent low impact form of cardio with which you can explore the countryside. Pls talk with me im lonelyand sad.

Get into pool/billiards. My friend's mom does it and she's always going off to games and tournaments and stuff. You'll be regularly kicking the asses of 20 year olds too, age isn't a factor.

My mother played volleyball for years when I was in grade-middle school. Whatever it is, make sure you work out the muscles you will be using if you haven't been active.
Unless you live in a town with less than 10,000 people in it, there are guaranteed beer leagues for just about any sport. Unless you're into football or hockey, almost none of them require any expensive equipment. Just do whatever sport you want.
