Short version- how much space do you give your significant other. Lack of communication?

Extra details- I was messaging and texting this girl 4 about a week because we had planned a date in a week. So we texted everyday to keep our rhythm going. When I'm the date I liked her she liked me. Everything goes smoothly.

The next day I text her and I'm trying to get a conversation going like usual and she apologizes for not responding to my texts cuz of reasons but at a certain point I felt she was a little unresponsive and I realized that we don't have to be texting on a daily basis like we were before. Because when we text we text for hours and that's time consuming in a little bit stressful.

So I know she likes me and I like her but I'm planning on not texting her today to give us some space and then give her a call or text tomorrow but something more casual not really a long-winded subject changing conversation. Maybe plan for a second date.

I think I'm doing things the right way by doing this please give me your comments suggestions and thoughts.
