Is doing chemistry for two years in my CC then transferring to university to take biochemistry a good idea? Or is biochem a shit major?

The chemistry major in my CC meets all of the course requirements for a biochem transfer too.

I imagine there will be opportunities after college, but there will be fierce competition and you will have to dedicate a significant amount of time outside of class, homework, and studying to develop relationships with the faculty, get internships, and get your foot in the door at the professional level for you to have a shot at them.
