Jealousy? Why can't people just be happy and not shit on people.

Ever since I bought my new car, a group of "friends" have continuously shat on almost everything I do, and when I fire back and put them in the hot seat their criticisms hold no water. And I'm left looking like the asshole after I get put into a corner and forced to defend myself. This entire weekend I haven't gone out because I refuse to hang out with people who just want to make me the ass of every joke. One of them came over and asked why I was "acting like a loser" and not hanging out with them, I told him to fuck off. Any tips on how to deal with this?


These friends just happen to be co-workers as well. I have no friends outside of work that live in my current area..

Thats the only thing I could think off. NOTHING in my life has changed in over a year except for THAT one thing. But thanks for the advice.
