If I want/need to go on stress leave from work for a few weeks my understanding is that I need written permission from my employer to verify the situation with my my company's benefits provider. Being that my employer is a hateful cesspool of individuals and almost 100% likely to refuse my request, would a doctor's note/recommendation supersede the necessity of needing permission from my employer?
