Hey /adv/, how do you obtain social skills?

Im sure you get some questions like this a lot. Throughout my childhood I had no friends and no chance to develop social skills. I eventually made friends in middle school but they are ignoring me more and more over time to the point that they are just a contact on my phone and not an actaul person anymore. Highschool is almost over for good and my family doesnt have enough money for me to go to college (for a long time atleast) so I might not get the chance to meet new people in years. I dont want to end up as the steriotypical autistic NEET permavirgin. This thought makes me incredibly stressed and only fuels my social anxiety even more. How do I actually make friends?

>people at highschool already think Im "that weird kid" and Ive heard rumors about me that arent very kind
>people think Im angry/school-shooter type
>I have a ruined reputation by being an edgy fag throughout freshman/sophomore year and then went quiet junior
>I used to scare away people who tried to talk to me out of pity. Now people are afraid of me

How do I reinvent myself and change peoples minds? How do I start a conversation?

Please, the stress is killing me and I dont want to die alone literally living with my mother.
