Hey guys, I'm kinda at a weird point in my life and unsure what to do.

7 years ago, I graduated from an art trade school. I thought I would make a living either as a freelance artist, or get a job as an Illustrator a a game or animation studio.
Tried freelance for 3 years, jobs were few and far between. I had attempted to go back to a local college to earn a bachelors degree, but then I finally got a job at a game company, so I dropped out after 1 semester. Now after almost 4 years later, I got laid off. It's been several months since then and I can't find a new job and have been living with parents.

My boyfriend of 4 years supports my art background, but asks what my backup plan is if I can't find work in this industry. I'm thinking of going back to school to earn a degree, but I'm not sure what for. I already have the art degree, so I don't know if I should earn a bachelor's in an art field or something different like marketing. It's also figuring out which school to go to. I could continue going to the local college, but that means I'd still have to live with my parents.

I'd rather go back to school to learn something like 3d modeling or animation, but the local college doesn't really have anything like that except design and digital media which is under communications.

My boyfriend also suggested being a part time student, just in case I do have a job, but then I'd have to find work in the same city.

I live in Staten Island, N.Y. I used to work 9-5 in Manhattan, and commuting to Manhattan where I live is around 1-2 hours. If I continued going to my local college, Im not sure how I could do both.

I'm just not sure what to do at this point. I feel stuck and scares of my decision. It also doesn't help I'm almost 28 years old.
