How do I stop being reluctant to have a job? I started my first day at a local fast food restaurant today and I hated it. Some of my coworkers were rude for no reason, customers were dicks, and I feel like shit. I'm dreading going to work tomorrow and I'm not sure why I can't just deal with it. My last two jobs I left within the first two weeks, and I'm already making excuses for why I should leave this job (don't want to take time from studying for classes, want more time for extracurriculars and working out, don't want to deal with football gameday rushes, etc.) I don't need the job but I'd like the extra money and experience before I start looking for an internship for next summer. What should I do?

I'd contact a local temp agency and tell them your preferences, they'll connect you with an employer who matches those and it will be temporary work that way you can get varied experience rather than one job that you feel committed to.

EVERYBODY's first day (indeed, first week or two) at EVERY job is Hell. It gets better quickly, but you have never stuck with a job long enough to discover that.

work sucks. that's why they have to pay people to show up.

getting to know the other chill people that work there will make things a bit better, but right now you're the guy with no idea what the fuck he's doing so it can get on peoples' nerves

It sucks at first but eventually you get desensitized to it. It takes a while to get to that point though. Wait until you reach the six month point, and if you feel like you can keep going, then do so.
