How do I stop playing video games? I think it's a manchild hobby, but I honestly really enjoy then.
>will go long periods not playing them, especially when I was in school or working
>would play one night and it'll just explode into playing for hours a night
>last night instead of applying for jobs, just played video games
I'm 23. I do work full-time but pay is horrible. Been applying to about 10+ jobs a week since late June, but I've been so discouraged that I just want to give up and play video games for my 3 hours of free time a day
Video games are no different from mindlessly browsing 4Chan, spending time on Facebook, or watching porn. You have to think about why you're reaching for the video games and solve that. Gaming itself isn't the issue.
In my case, when I binge on video games it's always to avoid something that I know is mentally monotonous or will likely result in failure and personal challenges.
I guess its better then jacking your dick for 3 hours to pornhub...

Pic related. Stop being bitch first.

Nothing wrong with games, celebrities, professional athletes, musicians, etc; it's just another form of entertainment, just like watching movies, browsing social media, listening to music or watching tv.

This guy is kind of right. you have to not care what people think to a certain extent, just do you, unless you fucking kill people, just have some common sense. The whole idea that you think you should not do something you like because of what other people will think of you stems from insecurity.

Basically what this anon said, look at why you're playing games, if it's to avoid a problem, then it's a problem. If you do it in moderation, then it's fine, it's no different than girls laying around browsing Instagram and facebook for hours a day. You just have to see if it's productive or not.
Shave your fucking neck and grow a man beard. Chop some wood. Plant some shit. Be a man.
Uninstall your games and pack your Xbox or whatever away in a box.

Gaming is NO longer a manchild hobby. This ain't the 90's no longer.

You can also use this to justify having a pacifier and refusing to eat vegetables.

Video games are not productive, that's the problem. Movies are productive because I'm in the entertainment industry, and yeah social media shouldn't even be considered a hobby. And I don't necessarily use video games to avoid a problem, but I just think it's childish either way.

I'm not 12, I play on a PC. The only thing uninstalling would do is make me wait 10 minutes before booting a game up

Don't let society dictate your hobbies or make you feel bad doing something harmless you enjoy.

Just put in close box all you videogames, uninstall you videocard graphic, just need 3 months to erase videogame addiction.
Videogames don't be for manchildrens, but maybe you want use your time in something more productive.

Then be a manchild and play games, my 50 year old father has a successful and respectable career and he's still gaming. Abusing games as a form of escapism is an actual problem, though, but a separate one.
