After spending two years in the workforce I've decided I want to go to college (even though I don't know what I want to major in). I want to do online courses because I'm taking care of a relative's acreage and am in the middle of nowhere. Would like advice from people who've taken online courses or any college advice in general.
Personally, I've found online classes to be easier. Idk if it's that teachers are more lenient on online classes, that it's just better for my personal learning style, or what but I've taken classes in person with a teacher, and then took the same teacher online and shit he would have knocked me on in the in person class he overlooked online.
I digress. The only thing I gotta say about online classes is what everyone says about them, you have a LOT more responsibility to keep yourself on track. You don't have the teacher to remind you in class about due dates and shit, you just have to be super organized.
The other thing I got on online classes is that a lot of online classes are far more likely to let you work ahead than in person classes, take advantage of that if you're given the opportunity. Do everything you can handle in one sitting, not just what's due next. You'll thank yourself later when your other life's duties get in the way and you got a little breathing room since you did that weeks shit beforehand.

Oh, and since you said you're out in the middle of nowhere, be VERY careful about your internet cutting out and shit. If your speed/connection is crap, all the more reason to make sure you NEVER do anything last minute.
I've never had a teacher to ever accept late shit due to technical problems. The answer you always get was "you shouldn't have waited until the last minute, then you wouldn't have had technical problems"
