So, me and some friends are trying to move out soon. We all have money and jobs and such, but there's an issue.
Will someone rent a five bedroom house to five twenty year olds? I don't know if they'll think we will trash the house or something. We definitely won't, as we mostly play video games and are pretty clean people, but how can we explain this to them?
I heard I should just expect a bigger down payment, which is fine. As long as they will rent it to us I don't care.

Maybe, depends on how you come across and what you do for a living.
Also you say you're pretty clean, but are you sure it's not just because your mothers are there to clean up after you?

No, I definitely clean up after myself. Not only is my job a cleaning job but my mom has always had me clean a lot and do my own laundry etc
A five bedroom house doesn't mean a nice house, it could be a standard one. Also, students do fine renting 9 bedroom mansions.
I had one potential landlord who was patronising to me (told me this isn't like my house at home, he thought his place would be nicer than my family home lol). I think he was autistic. We just went somewhere else.

depends OP, but probably.
Nicely worded letter can help, shows competency and reliability. assuming you/your housemates have reasonable credit, willingness to give credit info, and having sufficient deposit.
You can include basic facts in your description about you and your housemates, understand this person may have very little info to work off of and can't ask racist questions, but something like.
I'm ___________, I'm a _________ working for ________ and studying ______________, generally clean and responsible, I enjoy ________ (something incouous like kiyaking and ________________ (ex. Photography).
Nice polite closing statements, check your grammar and spelling.
If it's through a rental agency it may matter way less.
