One of my friends just started dating someone who rejected me.

Honestly, if it's too much to bear, just don't go out with them for a while. But *don't* tell them that you are not going out because of them. Make excuses for a couple weeks.

Alternatively you can bite the bullet and try and ignore it, but it's hard.

I got out of a real relationship semi-recently, so my heart is super fresh. I haven't been on my game or confident lately which is prob why I got rejected in the first place. Kind of for that reason though, I want to keep going out. I don't want to end up holing up alone while my friends grow and thrive. I am jealous though. I know they aren't but it ~feels~ like they're flaunting their happiness

I hate to say it but man up. You barely knew this girl and besides that the guy isn't even a close friend. Even if he was I wouldn't say you had any dibs on her since she rejected you outright. Swallow your pride and move on with life brah. You'll meet someone else.

Like I said, dark place. I'm sure I can meet someone but I also don't want to settle. I just selfishly want everyone to be in the same emotional place I am, lol, I know it's horrible. Thanks for the advice
