My short term memory has gone since May/June. It's become so bad that the last month I can't understand people if they talk slightly fast and I'm not able to remember 4 random syllables in order in brain exercises. What do I do? I went to my GP and he wants me to medicate my slight subclinical hypothyroidism because it'd be "embarrassing" to refer me to a memory specialist if they just refuse me because of it.

It's so bad that I'm 100% sure this can't be a hormonal issue. Should I go to the emergency room? I've started taking thyroid medication but I don't want to wait the 8-12 weeks to see if my symptoms are gone.

vid related. I know this maybe isn't too abnormal but for me it is and I'm only getting worse even though I train my brain and go running every day.
