When I was 16 the first real girlfriend I had and the one who took my virginity wrecked my car, fucked a bunch of guys behind my back, "lost" two of my class rings, and had all sorts of mental issues. She wasn't even all that attractive. I followed up with a very beautiful girl who eventually cheated on me because I was a dick to her based on the previous relationship (she was also a bit crazy to be fair). Went through a few other girls with varying success.

Between loving to "save" people and enjoying getting my dick wet it took me several years to put my foot down for good. That said, the experience killed any delusions that I once possessed about the goodness of females or people in general and helped me down the path to becoming the man I am today. While I certainly have flaws, I made it for 8 years in the military to include combat, graduated with a 4.0 GPA from college, have a faithful wife and kids, and make six figures a year. If I had skipped the experience, I am doubtful I would be successful today.
