Is it weird to message a professor that I haven't talked to in a few years and ask them to be a reference on my resume?
I've got no direction, but have a general area of things I want to just apply for, just to see if I can get something. The references are the last and final piece I need for my resume to be complete, but I'm having trouble finding good ones.

Does it matter if it's weird? You need references, don't you?

No do it.
>he wont remember you anyway
>they wont check the reference anyway
Just push your luck.

Yeah, I guess so. I was all ready to do it, but then I googled some stuff and it made it sound like professors get offended at people messaging them out of the blue and stuff.
Also, I'm nervous about if I'm asked about what specifically I'm going to apply for, since my answer is basically "I dunno lol, anything".
I'm going to probably send it by tonight, but I just wanted to get some outsider perspectives first.
Just do it..theyll probably be flattered (cos who gives a fuck) and give you nice words.
You dont want a professor as a reference.
How could a prof have any relationship with you in a class of 100? That's exactly what a hiring manager is going to think. Literally the second thing I learned in an HR class.
Find someone else, just never ask a professor.

It's a professor I had for multiple classes within my major, which had like 10-20 people in them tops.
