Hello /adv/ some time ago I lost a bet and had to shave my head. I always used to have it fairly long, but having my head shaved made me realize my receding line is starting to show up quite badly (20 years old btw).
Since I haven't touched my hair when I got my head shaved (pic related), it is starting to look kind of a mess (ignore the beard please) and I have to go soon to the barber.
My question is, what would you ask your barber to get you a haircut? I don't know if staying on the short side with something like a buzzcut or a caesar cut, or to tell him to cut it in such a way that it should grow nicely so that I could let it grow back again.

Don't fuck up your appearance because you're upset about balding. Just keep trimming it like pic related, unless you want to be some kind of powerful skull man.

How short would you say to get it? And do you say I should get it a bit shorter on the sides?
Asking this because I do have a trimmer at home and could shave myself

Somewhere between prickly and overgrown (seems overgrown in pic). Trim it once or twice a week.
Guys with money will go to a barber to get it tapered/faded, but you can just frequently hit it with one short length if you want to be more practical.
