How normal is it to repeat a year at university? I'm 21 and working towards a degree in IT I failed one of the subjects during my last year so I will be forced to repeat it next year before I graduate. Do recruiters care about that sort of thing? I didn't manage to get a summer internship this time so I'm spending time studying but I can't help but worry.

I didn't get good enough grades to get through to the next stage in my programme so I repeated two papers. I've never been questioned about it, but then again, I have excellent grades for the final stages of my degree and I've published research.

I wouldn't worry about it, but make sure you're able to explain it if you're asked. It's something that employers may want to know about.
