>get job offer paying $50k/year more
>don't want to take it because job is boring as fuck
>want to see if current job will offer raise
Should I mention the other job that offered while asking for a raise?

If u plan on switching jobs if no raise then yes. "I received a higher paying job opportunity but I enjoy working for your company so is there a way you could provide me a better deal" (just an example, probably sucks). But if you'll stay at this job anyways I think it would make you look weak to have a better opportunity be denied a raise and still stay anyways.

give that job to me. Say I'm your distant 3rd cousin.

For Web Development? Do you need a degree?
You would have to commit to taking the new job if you're going to use it as leverage for a raise. I think you should go for it and if you end up having to take the boring job you can just cry about it and wipe your tears with your extra $50,000.

experience and a portfolio is better than just a degree, but a degree can help you get started and learn in a structured environment.

Probably only 25k extra after taxes
