HELP WITH RAZORS (2.0)
My regular cartridge razor doesn't give me a good close shave and going against the grain wrecks my baby skin. My job needs me to shave basically daily unless I manage to wax my beard. So I was thinking should I get a safety razor? Also anyone have experience with these?

You need AFTERSHAVE. It has to contain alcohol which will BURN YOU right after shaving for few minutes. That will deal with your problem.
And i have been using gillete cartriges for years only to recently try safety razor (on your pic the tool on the left) and it is godtier. Cheaper, sharper and shaving feels a bit bettet. I go in without any foam, just wet my face and then shave.
Use aftershave WHICH BURNS (desinfection) and you will be ok.

You dont shave with a brush.

I'm using my safety razor for the last two months. It's pretty nice. You will have to learn how much pressure you can use to get in the smooth cut and deep cut sweet spot, but if you're not retarded you will not really cut more than with your cartridge one. And I'm saying that from the perspecative of a women (thinner and more sensitive skin) which can safe _every_ part of her body with it without any cut.
But you will need to also try out some blades, I'm still looking for better ones. But it's not like they are expansive. You also don't need to pay much on a brush. I got mine for 5€ and my razor was about 30€ (Merkur). Don't forgett a nice soap.
Try it out, anon.

Aftershave does not need alchohol. In fact the shit with alchohol will dry out your skin which is the opposite of what you want to do. Find a nice alchohol free aftershave balm to moisturize your face.

Make sure you get a razor that you can compleatly take apart and clean the inside of. If you get one that can't do that eventually soap and shit will build up in the mechanisms inside the handle and it won't be able to close properly which is an excellent way to scrape off a patch of skin because the blade is at the wrong angle.

nah I splash my face with 90% alcohol and rub it in a little, never had a rash, acne, or dry skin on my face.

From my experience, the stuff with alcohol is cheaper and it works to keep my skin from itching, having fun color and so on. So no. The stuff without alcohol doesnt sting and also doesnt work.
