The issue that I personally have with this statement is that it possibly implies that I am supposed to date someone I am not genuinely attracted to. I don't have my standards because I decide on them or because I think that that's what I am "worth" but because these are just things I am naturally attracted to in a partner.

I can't simply forget about them and if I got into a relationship with someone I am simply not attracted to that is just going to hurt either one of us in the long run.
