I've noticed people in my life seem really okay with not respecting the boundaries of a relationship.
Like there have been multiple girls I've liked in my life but I backed off because they were all in relationships. In those situations multiple people told me things to the effect of "it won't last forever/she'll be single soon/it doesn't matter she's into you."
Have I been overreacting or am I associating with a bunch of cheating-assholes?

depends on the person
I know a girl who cheats on her bfs quite a bit and a bunch of others who completely stopped talking to me because they have bfs
and of course there are guys who do that too

what's disrespecting boundaries?
I'd never cheat but I'd fuck a girl with a boyfriend before I even knew if he was bigger than me or not.
Honestly, I respect you for doing that, OP. You're refusing to contribute to cheating or to cause a problem. Good on you.
