Should I attempt to con a con artist?
There's an eBay seller '2727wil' who I purchased a phone from last night. Was too stupid to search the seller before buying so didn't realize they were a scammer until it was too late (user has high feedback rating, probably artificial, and is a recommended seller by eBay). Turns out the seller is known to sell stolen or refurbished goods claiming them as new.
Status is "Paid not Sent" and since it's the weekend time is on my side. Should I send the seller a message claiming i'm part of an anti-scam team and will be reviewing the product after recieving multiple complaints from buyers? (this is obviously made up). The plan would be to at least get them to treat me better, hook me up with the best of their shit. Would this work or would it just piss them off and do the opposite? (Keeping in mind they're doing several illegal things that I could start a legitimate court case over).
It's not a bad idea, might be suspicious that you'd tell them, though. I'd try to scam em somehow, and do this if you can't improve the idea. I don't think this would make them give you a worse model at least.
yolo, fuck them, I hate scammers

I'm a little tipsy right now so won't do anything until i sober up a bit. See I worried about that too, it would look suspicious, but on the other hand it might look like i'm being nice by giving them a heads-up. I've studied up on how to tell if the product i received is fucked or not but I want to avoid being in that situation where I have to deal with the faulty product. Seller is known to say they'll fix it but when you send it to them they don't usually refund or send a fixed version back. People like this piss me off so much, it's not so much what they're doing, more that they try to pass it off as legit. They've been doing this for 4 years (to my research) and eBay continues to support them.
