I see a guy on my Facebook who is constantly posting all of this shit about business/investing seminars he attends, new products etc and trying to get people to join this new investment but never really states what it is.

that basically a pyramid scheme isn't it? it actually kind of annoying.

do they actually believe in their shit or are they knowingly trying to recruit people to minimise their losses and pass it onto them

a pyramid scheme usually involves you trying to get people under you, which would the the direct source of cash flow, which then moves up the pyramid.

When you join a pyramid scheme, you're manipulated into looking at everyone through the lens of "us vs them". Everyone roped into the scheme are smart, hard-working, and will be rich, while everyone not interested are simply lazy, stupid, wagecuck sheep.

Ironically, anyone that falls into a pyramid scheme crumbles under peer pressure and shown themselves to be easily manipulated. Bring up any stats or facts and they'll say it's all fake information created by competitors or failed salesmen who did not put in the work.

I have had a friend tried to get me to join and kept shilling to me, while he spent thousands of dollars on tapes, inventory, and motivational trips. Made virtually $0 net profit in two years and we never mentioned the topic after those arguments where I tried to help.

How you can get him to stop? You can't. He probably consumes pyramid scheme content 24/7 and getting that "high" from future hopes and anything that stands between that will be disregarded, if not despised.

I am a small business owner. I have invited him to work for me, in legit business. but he refuses, saying I'll be poor if I keep doing things my way and he'll be rich by the time he's 35 (he's 29 now, been in involved in several schemes since HS.)
