What would you do if you found yourself putting the most effort into a relationship?

Is it something I have to accept? I don't want to end the relationship but I don't want to be taken for granted either.

I heard a piece of advice that said in any relationship the girl should love your more than you love her. If I feel I'm not being met in the middle I tend to drop it.
