I've been working this state job for a month and a half now. Was supposed to get paid last thursday. Then was told tomorrow. Now there is a possibility it is going to be next thursday.

I have car insurance due thursday, electric bill due next week, and my muffler fell off of my car.

I'm trying to remain stoic, but a man can only take so much.

Am I right to be upset? How to I keep my composure?

Sounds like something states do when going through a budget crisis.

Normally if this was happening in the private sector you could complain and get your money. I don't know if you have any recourse here. I guess you could complain to the local news and they can do a story.

Your responsibility is to do you job.
Their responsibility is to pay you for that.

Say you need to be paid, if they keep sandbagging, talk to a lawyer.
I hate to be litigious but sometimes you have to be.
