How do I find a therapist? I don't know where to look or what to look for, besides whether or not they're covered by my health insurance.
I don't even understand insurance coverage when it comes to mental health professionals, but /adv/ is useless for this kind of shit beyond telling you to go to one, they're totally incompetent

The therapist that worked for me was Mindfulness based, try and look for that, may work for you too.
Also don't be afraid to cry I didn't and I think it hindered me a bit
You have 2 choices:
1. Ask your regular doctor for a referral
2a. Call your health care provider and ask them
2b. Go online to your health care provider and search for one
Optional:
Some insurance comes with EAP (employee assistance program.
Call them up and ask for help.

>EAP
I am paranoid about this
they claim it is anonymous however it seems like it'd be very easy for my employer to verify I've been seeking help
Why wont you talk with us '\·_·/'
