Well, I got invited to hang out with a few friends. This is great and all and I'm eager to chill of course and I love being around them, but they're talking about going for a dip in my friend's pool. Now, I'm all for pool parties, especially during the hot weather, but I myself absolutely suck at swimming. I mean, I can get from point a to point b, but I'm just not well adapted to water in general. It's not the only thing we'll be doing, but I just don't want to be that guy that kinda ruins the whole thing.
Any advice for how I can handle the situation without being a derp?

Go swimming regularly and don't stress shit like that. You will probably not swim laps there and just mess around, just stay at the edge of the pool most of the time if it is deep.

Thanks! I appreciate it.
I'm just afraid I might get caught in a peer pressure situation and not know what to do. Do you think just straight up telling them I'm not great at swimming would be a good idea? Or should I just play it easy and not really bring it up until necessary?
Stupid questions, I know, but I'm just nervous.

Honesty is a weapon.
>lol anon let's randomly swim sum laps
>lol no guise, I am shit at swimming, I am gonna sit right here.
easy.
I wouldn't bring it up though unless it comes up.
If your friends judge you for your swimming skillz find new friends.

its a pool, not the ocean. just hang out where you can stand, or slightly beyond. its not goign to be a problem. most of the time you're not in the pool or if you are you're just sitting in it. you don't really swim laps or anythin
