>9 years old
>Family loses house
>We move states
>Most of our stuff was put in a storage unit until we could find a proper home
>Ended up homeless instead, sleeping in our old minivan
>10 years later my parents have a real house, not just moving from homeless shelters to tiny apartments
>$10,000 in missed payments to storage company
>Get a call a few months later saying they finally auctioned off the unit
>Countless photos, childhood mementos, and thousands of dollars of tools all gone among other things
>None of this mattered to my dad though
>He didn't care about the money he had lost, they were just things
>All he cared about were two paintings his mother made for him, a couple months before she died from lung cancer
>She had been in the hospital for nearly a decade and she would paint to keep herself busy because she couldn't speak
>Willed her favorite two to my dad
>No idea where the rest ended up
Pic semi-related, the closest image I could find based on memory of one of the paintings
Anyways, it's my dad's birthday in August and I want to find the paintings for him. They're priceless to him. All I know is the company who auctioned them. How the hell could I go about locating their new owner?
