the reason there arent any resources for that is because it simply doesn't exist. america does not welcome workers without a specific need. if you applied for a work visa they'd only allow you to work in your field. a problem a LOT of the actors have here is they cannot support themselves with a regular job because they are foreign, they are only legally allowed to accept acting jobs and it kinda fucks em over cuz it takes a long time to secure that if ever.

the best thing you can do is greencard marriage. I've considered offering my self for it on numerous occasions, both romantic and platonic, but unfortunately im not in a great place to make that kind of offer anymore as my income is based 50% on renting out my spare room in hollywood and having a husband sudden;y move in would fuck that up unless he wanted to take that spare room him self but its 1100 usd a month

I see what you mean. I'm glad you understand the struggle. Even visas for the arts aren't encompassing enough for all artistic professions. You almost need to be part of some production currently being done and whatever and be a fucking nationally recognized artist to qualify. That is simply not the majority of actors or would-be great actors in the future.

The only thing I can immediately think of is if a radio station would sponsor a work visa for me. That is something that could work but getting that to happen while I'm here is hard enough, never mind being over there asking for such a thing. I wouldn't mind being tied to working on the radio, that would actually be brilliant, I wouldn't need to be looking for something else or whatever. Its in my field and its a 9-5 with lots of connection opportunities. However as I said, connections are a bitch.

maybe. i know a lot of actors here on work visa, but they get sent home fast. i think most of them got it though cuz they did school here firs.t that makes it a LOT easier cuz they just apply for a work visa after and i think they're more likely to get it then just flat out applying for a work visa from the get go.

im american my self, at least legally, I only know the struggle second hand.

working for a radio station is a hard job to get though. dying profession, and in LA they mostly hire existing C list celebrities who can't get visual work anymore.

I lived in LA and I used to kickbox with a voice actor. He did the voice of Vash from Trigun, and many others. This was years ago though, at least 5.

yeah id offer to greencard marry OP but you know... my renting income. he has enough to get by for awhile but if he didn't get lucrative work he wouldnt be able to afford it long anyway
