So, I've considered a syphilis screening before starting a new relationship. 6 years back, I saw a rash on my arm that looked and felt much like scabies. My heart sank when I realized I could've been in secondary and moved to latent this whole damn time! Before I dive into an expensive, out of pocket screening plus copay- what appears first? The chancre or the rash? Because the rash came first and I noticed a reddish bump in the pubic area that wasnt anything more than a bump, no sore/blistering. Happened a bit after the rash broke out on my forearm, really hoping that was just scabies that died quickly due to being in a 120+ degree fahrenheit factory every day.
