A run-on sentence is a specific type of grammatical error that is not synonymous with 'really long sentence'. You're not supposed to put a comma whenever you want to take a breath, otherwise you're likely to end up comma splicing: an error categorically worse than a run-on sentence.
Regardless, unless a strong writing style is causal to the inability to pick up chicks, how is this thread of discussion relevant beyond the deficit in comprehension that the revised sentence should have resolved?
