Nah. The thing is, if you chat too long you're creating an image of the other person in your head, and she is creating an image of you in hers. Even if you do go out an a date, the chance is very real that you won't be able to live up to that (false) image and it all goes to shit anyway.
The first few messages are important for first impressions' sake, so don't be a creep and don't be a beta. Just be like "Hi there", take it from there, and meet up as soon as possible. Then and only then should you start worrying about establishing a connection.
Don't get invested too soon, it's a numbers game.
