Probably just a large hardened glob of earwax, sounds exactly what i used to get, just fill your ear with baby oil and leave it for 5mins then wash out, do it before bed or something every night, after a week or 2 it will finally soften up and your ear will just pop one day releasing a fuckton of dark nasty-ass old earwax

When you went to your doctor, were they able to see fluid visible behind your eardrum? Have you gone to an ENT specialist? There are a few options for trying to drain the fluid, depending on what's causing it (in my case I think it was environmental/allergy).

I've heard of a technique of basically using the equivalent of a plumbing snake through the eustachian tube to try to open it up or check if there's a blockage (like a polyp), but not a whole lot of ENT's will do this.

Tinnitus is caused by damage to your ear. While there is a physical cause though, the ringing you hear is not real. Damaging your ear more isn't going to make it better and can actually make the ringing worse.

When you get an otitis, hear damage or when the inner ear gets compressed, the frequencies you hear are the frequencies that have been "lost".

So unless your ears were damaged permanently, the tinnitus will stop when the inner ear goes back to its initial form
