What does it mean if you're wanting to drink alcohol, but don't want to put in the effort of buying or drinking it? It makes no sense and I've been like this for over a year. It's not like I was an alcoholic before or now. I just refuse to drink but the thought keeps coming up. Help.

Erased. It's okay.

guess your brain is trying to tell you that you need a new coping mechanism.

If there's one thing I've learned in my years of addiction recovery, it's that if you ever have to ask your self the question " Am I addicted to ___", nine times out of ten you are already addicted.

It starts off once a week, but an addiction causes your brain to require an increase in frequency and intensity. I've it happen a million times. The biggest thing you can do is only drink when you're happy and with friends. Never drink to get happy or to make friends. That's an addictive behavior.
If you take anything from this post, just remember that if you have the slightest suspicion you might have an addiction, it is imperative that you go to just one AA meeting (or SAA if it's a sex addiction, WAA for a weed addiction, so on) and see how you feel afterwards.
Grace be with you anon.
