Can someone redpill me on Trump withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement. Good, bad? I have an essay due in 6 hours. ty
>>
Trump really had no choice other than withdrawing completely from the country, Paris's Climate Agreement. Trump as the President of The United States Of America, abbreviated as the POTUS, was thinking of withdrawing when withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement. The Paris Climate Agreement is an agreement which is related to the United States Of America and Paris, a European country. Paris is known to have Eiffel Tower, a famous landmark known widely among lovers as a love sight. People come her for their honeymoon or ask their partner out. The Paris's Eiffel Tower was used as a tower in the WW2 and was planned to stripped down later but then the plan got cancelled, which then eventually became a love symbol. The second is the Taj Mahal in India. The Taj Mahal in India is also regarded as a love symbol because a king built it for his wife after her death and her corpse is buried inside it.

Working class Americans think that unemployment and immigration are bigger problems.

go listen to ben shapiro speak on the topic
he has a soundcloud

He doesn't believe in global warming.

That about sums it up. The guy is trying to bring back coal, that should tell you enough.
>>
The Paris Climate Agreeement puts pressure ob nations and corporations to steeply lessen carbon emissions. Under this Agreement it simply cannot be "business as usual" for many large corporations and nations that rely on natural resources, especially the extraction and refining of fossil fuels. These corporations and nations will then be forced to change the way they function, which requires an overhaul of their business practices and infrastructure, which is a costly investment. On top of that, under new rules it's very likely to hurt their revenue streams

Overall, meeting the targets is going to cost powerful people a lot of money... And Trump listens to those people, does what they say.

global warming is real and fossil fuels are less labor intensive (read: create fewer jobs) than renewables in the short term. Withdrawling is good for you only if you're old and rich (can't benefit from long term investments).

i bet you'd employ everyone to blow on the earth to cool it down (read: 0% unemployment)

>good? Bad?

Doesnt actually matter in the least on a logistical scale. It was a non binding agreement ie all parties may act or not act on their promises as chosen. It was essentially an international pinky swear everyone will curn their emissions. There is no real contract or consequence in place for any member who did sign to worry about.

This means states are free to participate or not as they choose. And many are carrying on anyway to curb their emissions. He has had zero effect.

>kinda bad though

The US being the only economy in the world that actually matters that didnt agree is kind of embarassing. It also continues to show US allies that america has gone rogue.

>still doesnt matter.

Advancement happens whether you like it or not. When the technology allows for cheaper more efficient energy, whether you agree with manmade climate change or not doesn't matter. Countries, states, and companies will switch.

To put it in perspective with irony, the kentucky coal museum has even switched to solar because they found it cheaper.

Electric cars are gaining range and becoming way more efficient and affordable and practical, so youll see consumers starting to switch over, coal jobs were dead anyway, and between fracking and the canadian oil sands, north america cannot compete on an international market with saudi arabia, as its costing them 50 dollars a barrel with all the new tech and infrastructure while the saudis can produce oil at 50 cents a barrel.

Remember a few years ago when gas prices dropped significantly? Thats because the US and Canada flooded the international market with expensive ass oil and the saudis responded by dropping their prices huge as it was an opportunity to choke out some competition. And it worked. They even bought a few american firms.

One thing that has held true throughout all of history and you can never fight no matter how you try: advancement happens, technology changes, old ways die and new are born.

Ill tl;dr

It had zero effect on the progress of things. It was non binding anyway so no changes in the economy would have occured either way, and it was a bit of a dumb move, because about all it accomplished was further show the world the US will not cooperate. Shout "USA! USA!" All you want. Allies and international relations are kind of important...
>>
>>18504336
>allies important
>without US intervention, Europe tears itself apart constantly
They need us anon. We benefit from them, but don't necessarily need them
>>

I thought it was more about the fact that while what you said is true, they basically tell India and China they can do whatever the fuck they want putting us at a massive disadvantage and them at a massive advantage since they already don't have to follow the same rules we do and this would just widen the gap.

If you think competing with China is a bitch now, we would have been handicapping ourselves further by agreeing to this while China continues to not play by the same rules.
>>
>>18504363
China is already way more aggressive with their carbon emissions. If we're at a disadvantage it's because we're way behind the curve and withdrawing from the PCA is only going to make it worse
>>
>>18504363
No the problem was chinese and indian beligerence. They industrialised late and thought it was bullshit they had to stop builsing their civilisations on cheap energy because america and europe said so.

In political science we talk about the stag hunt, a game theory. In an issue like this everyone must act together in common interest, and one party breaking the trust means death to all except the one who pursued their own interest.

So no one would budge knowing china wouldnt follow suit.

But now they are, and the US isnt(as an opinion of the president. At state level its a very different story). But its more likely than not China isnt being a hero for nobility sake. They likely now have the technology and infrastructure to be much more efficient without fossil fuels after all the money theyve been pouring into engineers and R&D over the decades.

Theyll play hero while pulling ahead.

Thats really whats so foolish about american defiance here... Its nothing new throughout all history technology gets better. Forget climate change or your feelings on jt. The US is going to fall behind if it doesnt embrace new technology and energy.

As i said earlier, they cant even compete in the international oil market as long as saudi arabia keeps pumping oil at a tiny fraction of the cost the US can.

Even from a strictly economic angle, emissions must be curbed even if just a side effect of using newer better energy sources.

Nuclear (thorium even), solar, wind, hydro, hydrogen gas, geothermal, quantum (i made that one up). Whatever. Old tech is old tech and you cant be caught with a stick n hoop when the other kids have hand spinners.
>>
its good

climate change and pollution are jewish liberal conspiracies
>>
As others have said it was a non-binding agreement, but he apparently didn't know that as he stated repeatedly that it would somehow cost us a ton of money. Even though he pulled the US out, many states have stepped up to commit to it on an individual level, which is nice for actually fighting climate change. The main consequence of what he did is that America's position as a leader on global issues has diminished, and China's position has grown.

China still eats dogs and cats in the 21st fucking century. They're a bunch of savages who don't give a shit about the Earth. Fuck China.
